Often referred to as the “Common Man’s CM” Manohar Parrikar was the former Defense Minister, and four times Goa’s CM. He took his last breath on Sunday 17th March 2019, at the age of 63.

Manohar Parrikar was fighting with a prolonged illness. Mr. Parrikar was known for his simplistic lifestyle, on one hand where politicians are known for their exquisite lifestyle, Manohar Parrikar led very simply.

Mr. Parrikar was an IITan, coming from the science background his genius cannot be ignored. Besides this, he was not someone hungry for power, he was persuaded to take on the mantle of the Defense Minister in Modi government.

Furthermore, Manohar Parrikar had served as the DM for two-and-a-half years.

The renegotiated Rafale deal between India and France was also signed during the tenure of Manohar Parrikar.

Manohar Parrikar is the one who oversaw the 2016 surgical strike in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir after the Uri attacks.

India has lost a great, dedicated, leader. May he rests in peace, and we wish that India gets more politicians like him, who spend every bit of their self for the sake of this country. A big salute to Manohar Parrikar, THE COMMON MAN’S CM.
